Geordie Chapter: What they've been up to
Fun in Filey at the Iron Horse Rally
A group of Geordie Chapter members visited the St Leger Chapter’s Iron Horse Rally, at its new venue - the Blue Dolphin Holiday Centre in Filey.
It’s a great new venue with plenty of accommodation and amenities and, we enjoyed some first-class entertainment and ride-outs.
I’m pleased to say that - at long last - we were finally able to lift a trophy, winning three of the five Chapter Games and getting second place in the slow ride competition!
It was brilliant to see so many of our members making new friends and enjoying the sunshine. A big well done to the St Leger Chapter for putting on another fun-packed rally.

Safety First
At our May Chapter meeting we were pleased to welcome Steve Darby and Nick Walker of Ridewell Tees Valley. They gave a presentation on improving riding techniques. Steve and Nick are former Class One police riders, and both are examiners for IAM and RoSPA.
Their presentation was most informative and had our 100-plus chapter members - as well as H.O.G. UK and Ireland Safety Officer, Mike Dall - in rapt silence. Some of the presentation topics included appropriate speed when entering corners, road positioning, the dangers of drinking coffee and tea at a midway stops and the importance of looking as far as you can see whilst riding. It was very interesting and informative.
Take care out there.
